The Federation of Small Businesses actively campaign on the many issues that matter to small businesses.  They do this by supporting and representing businesses at a local and regional level within Scotland, across the United Kingdom and in Europe.

Buy with Confidence – Trading Standards

Members of the Buy with Confidence scheme have all been vetted and approved by Trading Standards to ensure they operate in a legal, fair and honest way.  This vetting process involves Trading Standards obtaining references from a number of existing and previous customers, and a criminal records disclosure check.  Only after Trading Standards are satisfied that a business meets all the standards they set are they allowed to become members.

City & Guilds – National Proficiency Test Council – accreditation

City & Guilds, National Proficiency Test Council accreditation.  Michael is accredited and licensed to apply pesticides using a knapsack sprayer on land and water courses (PA1, PA6a & PA6aw).  The use of pesticides shouldn’t be a first choice method of controlling weeds or invasive plant material.  However, if pesticides are used by a business (i.e. other than personal use), it is essential (and a legal requirement) to have this accreditation in place.
